La práctica regular del yoga ayuda a mantener la vitalidad y un cuerpo sano en la vejez. Se ha comprobado médicamente que estos ejercicios estimulan y regulan todos los sistemas del cuerpo humano, incluyendo glándulas, órganos y sistema nervioso. Los ejercicios tienen un efecto purificante y regenerativo.

La alternancia rítmica del estiramiento y la contracción de cualquier parte del cuerpo provoca la expulsión de la sangre y el líquido linfático de los vasos. Con cada contracción, se produce una corta reducción en el suministro de sangre, y en cada estiramiento en cambio, la misma zona se inunda de sangre renovada con oxígeno y nutrientes. De esta manera, los órganos y músculos reciben el alimento óptimo, se mejora la circulación y se eliminan mejor las toxinas y demás residuos..
